“Dr. Gandhi has been with me through the beginning when I was first trying to get pregnant. I knew it was a perfect fit and couldn’t imagine anyone else delivering my baby. She is so comforting, intelligent, and explains everything to where I understand and feet at ease.”
“Dr. Peahen Gandhi is not just my doctor, but also my friend. She makes potentially uncomfortable visits feel pleasant, as her demeanor is so relaxed.”
A sampling of the hundreds of testimonials from Dr. Gandhi’s patients
Dr. Gandhi, a native of central Ohio, moved to Atlanta in 2003 for residency training at Atlanta Medical Center and received additional specialized surgical training at St Joseph’s Hospital, also in Atlanta. She joined Cherokee Women’s in 2007, having received academic honors throughout her medical training including the Berlex Teaching Award, the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award and election to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.
On her philosophy of patient care, Dr. Gandhi says, “A good doctor should be listening a lot – get the whole story and not just one simple complaint. I like the quote by Shakti Gawain, ‘Our bodies communicate to us clearly and specifically, if we are willing to listen to them’. I like to think that I genuinely care and listen to my patients’ needs, and that helps guide my recommendations.”
“There is no one more important to me than my family,” says Dr. Gandhi. “We all share our successes, and I feel really fortunate to have had their support through all the years of my medical training. I really found my calling in OB/GYN, and I so much enjoy practicing here at Cherokee Women’s Health – thank you to everyone!”
In her free time, Dr. Gandhi enjoys reading, classical Indian music and dance.
