Essure is a new technology for permanent birth control that requires no cutting or incisions, which we can perform in our office in less than an hour. Depending on your insurance plan, payment can be as low as a simple co-pay.

Our Essure-trained doctors insert a small flexible micro-insert through your body’s natural pathways (vagina, cervix, and uterus) and into your fallopian tubes. The insert works with your body to create a natural barrier to pregnancy, effective within three months. A confirmation test is performed to confirm that your tubes are fully blocked for permanent birth control.

Since Essure does not contain hormones, your natural menstrual cycle will continue more or less in its natural state.
