Gynecology

Gynecology is the medical specialty dealing with the health of the female reproductive organs. Traditionally, gynecology has been considered a surgical consultant specialty, but in recent years health insurance plans have changed to allow a woman to choose her gynecologist for her primary care.

Because a woman’s reproductive anatomy is designed for carrying and birthing a child, it is significantly more complex than a man’s, prone to complications as a woman ages.
